Welcome to the Mensa AU Fic Exchange!

Please read the short but hopefully informative rules bit below and then make your requests in a comment to this post. You can also post any questions here or email the mods at mensaverse@gmail.com.

Sign-ups are open until Monday 5th March at 6pm GMT. (ETA: Sign-ups closed now!) Assignments will be out as quickly as possible after that, hopefully the same evening.

Stories are due on or before Monday 23rd April (minimum word count: 1,000 words). You should submit them by sending them to mensaverse@gmail.com.

Stories will be posted anonymously to the community by the mods from 24th to 30th April with a poll for readers to guess the writer (multiple choice, nice and easy!). The masterlist will be posted on May 1st with the writers named, and particpants will be free to post to their own journals/sites from then on.

As with the community itself, all stories should contain at least one Mensa AU character. Stories requested may be gen or contain a pairing, and all participants must make three requests.

Pairing(s) you would (optionally) like to see with this character: AU John/Rodney
Scenario / challenge / suggestions: It's Rodney that went back to the other 'verse, not Rod - whether by brave design, accident, or hurt retreat. Up to you. How does Rodney cope? How does he find the other John, how do they find each other? Does Rodney regret it? Does he go home? Is he forced to? Does he choose to stay? Ooh, so much possibility! :)

Scenario / challenge / suggestions: When did Rod decide to become Rod, and not Rodney? What was the point of divergence? Not purely a back story, but something that feeds it in, somewhere, please.

Scenario / challenge / suggestions: Why is Rod so creepy? Something a bit dark, or off the wall. Serial-killer Rod, or planet-of-the-brain-snatchers Rod, or Stepford Wives Rod, I don't know! Go wild! :)
Squicks: For this? No squicks :)

I won't write: Anything with Beckett as part of a pairing, or POV. Het as the main pairing, unless it's Carter/Rod(ney), and anything that's total PWP (my smut has a tendency to suck :)

Oh yes, and I meant to say... Shouldn't you assign a minimum word count? Just so no-one writes an epic, and gets a drabble in return :)

Oops, we totally forgot to include that! Thanks for catching it - minimum word count is supposed to be 1,000 words. I'll edit that in right away. :-)
