Welcome to the Mensa AU Fic Exchange!
Please read the short but hopefully informative rules bit below and then make your requests in a comment to this post. You can also post any questions here or email the mods at mensaverse@gmail.com.
Sign-ups are open until Monday 5th March at 6pm GMT. (ETA: Sign-ups closed now!) Assignments will be out as quickly as possible after that, hopefully the same evening.
Stories are due on or before Monday 23rd April (minimum word count: 1,000 words). You should submit them by sending them to mensaverse@gmail.com.
Stories will be posted anonymously to the community by the mods from 24th to 30th April with a poll for readers to guess the writer (multiple choice, nice and easy!). The masterlist will be posted on May 1st with the writers named, and particpants will be free to post to their own journals/sites from then on.
As with the community itself, all stories should contain at least one Mensa AU character. Stories requested may be gen or contain a pairing, and all participants must make three requests.

Main Mensa AU character you would like to see in this fic: Mensa!John
Pairing(s) you would (optionally) like to see with this character: Mensa!John /Rod
Scenario / challenge / suggestions: What would it take for Mensa!Sheppard to make a move on Rod? How would he go about it? Would he try on a mission, adrenaline-rush giving him the courage to act, or maybe out of jealousy? Would he try to be more like someone he thinks Rod would like? Think of something and surprise me...
Happy, or at least hopeful ending preferred.
Squicks: Non-con, death stories if it is either McKay or Sheppard who dies and doesn’t come back
I won't write: I’d prefer to write slash, preferably McShep or Rod/Mensa!Sheppard, doesn’t matter in which universe, but I’m sure I could come up with something for a non-slash pairing. I would write Gen only if the main character/s is/are McKay, Sheppard, Ronon or Teyla say as a character piece or a team thing. I won’t write non-con,heavy bondage, deathfic, or partner betrayal. And I should warn you that my attempts at pwp tend to grow a plot along the way…

Pairing(s) you would (optionally) like to see with this character: Rod/Rodney, eventually Rod/ Mensa!John, mention (or more) of McShepp
Scenario / challenge / suggestions: What would have happened if Rod and Rodney’d had a ‘talk’ about their (prospective) love interests? Maybe Rodney mentions someone he’d had an affair with and Rod is taken aback, because he never went for guys, not really, maybe a little, you know, thinking about it and such… and his Sheppard, although uptight and gloaty is pretty hot in a smart kind of way… So, maybe Rodney decides he has something to teach to his alternate self after all...
Slash can be anything from PG to NC-17 but I’d like a happy or at least hopeful ending.

Scenario / challenge / suggestions: What would happen if all four of them meet, say on a planet because the gates have a malfunction. Can include other team members, (say Zelenka, Carson or Lorne) in addition to the normal team. How would Rodney and Mensa!Sheppard get along? Maybe Rodney and John already are an item and Rod and his Sheppard catch a clue… surprise me
